Duration: approx. 3-4 hours

This program covers the proper use of a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) in accordance Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Canada Labour Code Part 2 requirements and CAN/CSA-Z94.4-18, Selection, Use and Care of Respirators.
The practical training will be conducted on MSA industrial air packs, but can be customized to suit client-specific SCBA models. As a further option, the half-day program can be delivered in tandem with a group fit-testing session.
Completion Requirements:
Knowledge assessments conducted throughout this course are designed to reinforce the information presented. 100% participation and succssful completion of the practical elements must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion.

- Respiratory Hazards in the Workplace (customizable)
- Types and Applications of Respiratory Protection
- SCBA Components
- SCBA Pre-use Inspection, Donning, Doffing, and Post-use
- SCBA Troubleshooting
- Record Keeping, Medical Evaluations and Fit Testing
This training is recommended to:
- Confined Space Entrants, Attendants, and Rescuers
- Mine Rescue teams
- Emergency Spill Response (HazMat) teams
- Fire Fighters
- Health and Safety Managers and Specialists
- Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) members
Certificate of completion:
Upon successful completion of the course, a certificate of completion will be received, valid for 3 years.
